The local community can now enjoy improved access and connectivity with upgrades to pedestrian and cyclist facilities along Rockhampton – Yeppoon Road (Musgrave Street) at Moores Creek bridge complete.
This jointly funded project was completed in mid-October 2025 and is already enhancing safety and creating a more connected active transport network.
With the increase in lifestyle activities in the Rockhampton region, the Moores Creek cyclist and pedestrian bridge project on Rockhampton – Yeppoon Road will help to further connect the local community and supports sustainable growth in the Rockhampton region.
Donna Kirkland MP, State Member for Rockhampton, said that these upgrades in infrastructure will ensure better safety and accessibility for both cyclists and pedestrians.
“These upgrades will be welcomed by the growing number of people in our region walking and cycling across the Moores Creek Bridge. It is rewarding to see the positive impact this project is already having on the community.
Improving this section of infrastructure also creates a more connected and accessible transport network, making it easier for the community to access public transport.
Everyone, including seniors and those with mobility challenges, can now safely reach key areas of Rockhampton. It’s a step towards building a more inclusive and connected community,” Ms Kirkland said.
“Projects like the Moores Creek pedestrian bridge not only enhance our local infrastructure but also boost our economy by creating jobs during construction and supporting local businesses through increased connectivity.”
